Our indoor arenas and outdoor school

At the heart of the facility are our two indoor arenas, each measuring 40 × 20 m. Both have modern LED lighting and watering systems.

Directly adjoining them you will find 15 generous paddock boxes.

Everything horse and rider need sits around the arenas: large tack rooms, well-kept washrooms with showers, a comfortable seminar room, a warm-water wash bay, spacious grooming areas and much more.

Of course we love being outside in nature with our horses. That is what the securely fenced 25 × 50 m outdoor school is for. It lies right behind the stable buildings, which means four-legged spectators like to watch from the fence. The sand surface offers excellent conditions for many riding styles and kinds of training. After dark, LED floodlights light the school perfectly.

Our open stables

There are four open stables with different herd structures, designed for groups of 8–10 horses or up to 15 ponies. Each stable has lying and feeding areas, a settling-in box and generous paddocks of up to 1,200 m², some with an attached paddock trail.

The lying areas are bedded with pellets from Naturbrennstoffe Kretschmann. At several feeding stations the horses have hay and straw freely available all year round.

To keep feed quantities under control we feed through hay nets. In more than 15 years this method has served us consistently well.

On our generous pastures every horse gets to simply be a horse during the grazing season and to move as much as it likes.

Sometimes, much to the rider’s regret, their favourite is waiting at the far end of the paddock. But here the needs of the horses come first. In winter we have separate surfaced winter turnout areas, so the horses can live in their herd 365 days a year.

Forage is available alongside the grass all year round, and the paddocks have large automatic drinkers, so even horses wearing grazing muzzles always reach water.

Our pastures are cared for regularly and thoroughly, which gives us lasting feed quality, few weeds and good health management. We are proud to say that we can show species-rich grassland — for the wellbeing of the horses.

Hacking country

Having untouched nature right outside the door is something special, and the location of Silver Rock Ranch makes many a rider’s heart beat faster. The bridle path network starts at the ranch, and the surrounding meadows and forests offer many varied and demanding routes.

Within a few minutes you reach the finest viewpoints of the Erzgebirge, where the eye can wander across the peaks. The neighbouring Geyer forest invites you on short and long rides. Whether you simply want to let your mind wander on horseback or keep yourself and your horse fit with climbing, water crossings and long canters — the Erzgebirge has it all.

But take care — you can lose yourself here for miles and for days, so always pack something to eat.

A small holiday from everyday life

Anyone who works hard deserves a rest, and the ranch has many beautiful spots for exactly that. Whether the children are having a riding lesson, an event is on, or you simply need a place to breathe — everyone finds their own corner here. Fancy a latte macchiato? Reading a book in peace? Or working on your laptop in quiet surroundings?

Silver Rock Ranch makes it possible. Sit on the outdoor terrace or in a deckchair when the weather is fine. Walk through our beautiful forest and take a deep breath. Watch the goings-on from one of the many seats. Have a good conversation at the playground. Or curl up on the sofa in the parents’ and guests’ lounge. Take your pick…
